Corning’s summer internship experience is rich with hands-on learning. You’ll live, work, and experience the communities in which Corning operates, while building on-the-job skills. As our intern, you will be involved with Research and Development within Corning’s Scientific & Technologies (S&T) segment.

 

The purpose of our Intern Program is to raise the bar on talent by strengthening our pipeline for entry level roles for our immediate and future needs.

 

To be considered for an internship at Corning Incorporated, you must be actively enrolled at a college or university as a full-time student seeking a bachelor’s degree or higher. You must also have a current cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher (on a 0.00 to 4.00 scale).

Scope of Position (i.e. projects involved with and role within group):

  • Develop content for various communications tools, including Web, promotional materials, videos, presentations, brochures, posters, product information sheets, etc.
  • Assess Corning’s Science & Technology (S&T) analytics and identify opportunities for improvement, standardization, and automation based on industry best practices and internal/external analytics
  • Support internal and external projects, document processes and assist with approvals
  • Ensure materials and content are brand compliant
  • Coordinate with corporate communications and other Corning businesses, as appropriate

 

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Write and edit content that will be used across various tools for internal and external audiences including the intranet and corning.com
  • Support various projects ensuring brand compliance, product naming, and producing videos by taking the lead on planning, organization, content development, approvals, and posting of material
  • Support marketing communications supervisor and marketing communications manager as needed

 

Travel requirements (please note if international):

  • Limited domestic travel (less than 5%)

 

Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time:

  • 8am – 5pm.
  • Full time >40 hours/week
  • Duration: Summer 2021 (8-12 weeks)

 

Education and Experience (minimum required for consideration):

  • Enrolled as junior level or higher Undergraduate or Graduate level program with degree concentration in Marketing, Communications or related fields

  • Ability to work well under pressure, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing project requirements

  • High skill level with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Adobe)
