Corning’s Display Technologies segment manufactures glass substrates for active matrix liquid crystal displays (“LCDs”) that are used primarily in LCD televisions, notebook computers and flat panel desktop monitors.

 

Job Summary:

As a Mechanical Technician, you provide technical support for the design, development, and testing of industrial machinery and components. You apply principles of mechanics, hydraulics, thermodynamics, metallurgy, and machine design, and use computer-aided design (CAD) systems to prepare and revise drawings, schematics, and specifications. Responsibilities include making engineering computations and supporting moderately complex projects with judgment and routine recommendations.

  

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

    • Work will include project and design activities including 3D CAD modeling, running design calculations and generating detailed drawings.
    • We are looking for those with a strong level of technical curiosity and who can deliver creative solutions to technical challenges.
    • Applicants should have the ability to work in a team-based environment, collaborating with engineers, and designers and other peers
    • Good analytical skills, capable of diving into details to uncover insights and deliver impactful solution as an individual contributor

 

Required Skills and Qualifications:

    • AS Degree in CADD or Equivalent
    • Advanced SolidWorks / EPDM user
    • Advanced AutoCAD or AutoCAD LT
    • Ability to read and interoperate models and drawings.
    • General understanding of mechanical design principals
    • Introductory understanding of drafting and design standards for the group

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to generate new ideas and concepts for problem solving during the design phase is strongly preferred.

The range for this position is $59,248.00 - $81,466.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
