The Process Strategy Group (“PSO group”) supports Corning’s global Finance function by providing the thought leadership to the strategic development, planning and execution of leading policies, processes, tools, and technologies for finance. Collectively, the “PSO group” is responsible for bringing subject matter expertise, strategy and technology direction to the end-to-end processes in Finance, and cross-functionally where processes intersect with non-Finance functions and businesses. The group delivers value by driving strategic policy, process and technology to further our mission to be a World-class Finance Function. The Global Process owner for Record-to-Report (RTR) is responsible for creating the vision, strategy, and roadmap execution for this global process area. This person will also be responsible for directly collaborating with Accounting, Compliance and Reporting (ACR) and key stakeholders within the broader Finance and CSS organization. This person must be open minded, innovation and process oriented, and able to speak the business language as we work through our continuing Finance transformation. It will be critical the person also work well in a cross functional, enterprise process- oriented organization.

Scope of Position:

  • Create and sustain the record-to-report strategy, roadmap and action plan.
  • Work with fellow GPOs, ACR, and our businesses to introduce tools, techniques, practices, and analytics to further the performance of the end-to-end record-to-report process.
  • Engage to identify process and technology improvement opportunities in RTR; including reporting and analytics, related financial processes, and quality and cost-to-serve operating metrics.
  • Lead RTR portfolio management including project sponsorship, initial chartering, collaboration on resource planning, budgeting, sponsor and executive committee reviews, stakeholder engagement, change agency and project closure.
  • Engage with Corning finance and business leadership (up through the executive level) in a multi-national/multi-cultural environment to gain stakeholder alignment and present project status, findings, and results.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Research leading practices in the use of systems, tools and processes to drive efficient and effective RTR practices and build them into the Finance process and technology roadmap and provide leadership to their implementation and sustainability
  • Engage with stakeholders at all levels of the Finance to seek inputs on requirements and to socialize status/influence results
  • Sponsor and promote a portfolio for record-to-report, coordinated across the other end-to-end portfolios, and the Finance priorities assuring alignment with Corp agenda.
  • Provide regular project updates to executive sponsors, steering team, and PMO’s on metrics, budget, and overall health of the RTR finance portfolio identifying areas for action.
  • Document and manage risks throughout the project portfolio lifecycle
  • Refines and prioritizes tasks on the roadmap
  • Performs qualitative and quantitative analysis as needed to support business initiatives
  • Escalate issues as appropriate to ensure timely and effective resolution
  • Ensure projects are delivered within timeline, budget and deliverables are met.

Travel Requirements:

  • 25% domestic/international travel possible.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Transformation work in finance, IT systems is ideal.
  • Work with multiple groups and cross function team experiences.
