Scope of Position (i.e. projects involved with and role within group):

Forming project manager who applies production experience to develop new glass forming process and equipment and transfer to Engineering / Manufacturing. Technical leader and expert in area of glass forming, especially in process engineering and equipment.


Day to Day Responsibilities:

• Planning and control of project schedule, budget, resource for prototype and pilot process equipment and process development.

• Lead prototype process and equipment design and transfer knowledge to production process and equipment.

• Lead manufacturing process migration and scale-up.

• Identify and hire talent to ensure smooth technology migration from development to engineering and manufacturing.

• Define, design, document and execute process experiments/ trials using development and/or manufacturing assets

• Interface with Engineering/Manufacturing to identify technology development needs.

• Deliver documentation (project management / schedule / etc) and IP as needed.


Education and Experience (minimum required for consideration)

  • B.S. or M.S in Materials, Mechanical Engineering fields
  • Experience in glass forming


Travel Requirements (please note if international):

  • 2021-2022 : Corning, NY location (MOU)
  • Beyond 2022, 30% average travel : and International travel (USA, France)


Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time:

  • 40 hours per week/flex time


Required Skills (These are skills that candidates MUST possess)

1. 10+ years Knowledge/experience in project management in glass forming process startup and equipment build.

2. Strong engineering /production background, able to apply critical thinking and engineering principles to solve complex problems.

3. Able to use project management tools, MEE, KT analysis, Risk assessment , or similar.

4. Ability to build an effective team in a highly matrixed and diverse organization across research, development, engineering and manufacturing


Desired Skills (These are skills that would be nice for candidates to possess)

1. Project and functional leadership

2. Understand of glass science and forming related glass properties

3. Hands-on skills for process development in production

4. Able to communicate effectively in English/Korean/Chinese.
