The Specialty Materials segment manufactures products that provide more than 150 material formulations for glass, glass ceramics and fluoride crystals to meet demand for unique customer needs. Consequently, this segment operates in a wide variety of commercial and industrial markets that include display optics and components, semiconductor optics components, aerospace and defense, astronomy, ophthalmic products, telecommunications components and cover glass that is optimized for portable display devices.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Focus on execution of strategic communications, writing, and visual presentation of information
  • Support development and implementation of clear, concise, and consistent content to explain objectives and initiatives around Gorilla Glass’ strategy and annual objectives
  • Co-manage the internal Gorilla Glass communications tools/platforms and increase engagement / viewership
  • Co-lead and organize Gorilla Glass communications meeting and leadership events
  • Support employee communications programs across the division
  • Develop and lead communications planning and strategy for Gorilla Glass Human Resources key initiatives related to workplace culture
  • Assist with the creation and execution of employee engagement campaigns
  • Support and back up the marketing communications team members as needed

  • Strong writing and editing abilities, including proficiency in Associated Press style
  • Capacity to work well under pressure with ability to adapt to changing project requirements and deadlines
  • Ability to assess priorities and manage many projects simultaneously
  • Excellent organizational skills, detailed-oriented
  • Self-motivated with a demonstrated work ethic and a commitment to delivering outstanding work
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite preferred, specifically InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office

Education and Experience

 

  • Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, or other related field required.
  • Minimum three-five years of communications experience, preferably in corporate communications, public relations, journalism, or communications-related field

 

Miscellaneous

 

  • Ability to work flexible schedules to accommodate different global time zones  
  • Travel:  Less than 5%
