Role Purpose
Join Corning’s Law Department as a Paralegal I supporting the Intellectual Property (IP) team. In this entry-level role, you’ll provide legal and administrative support to patent attorneys, with hands-on learning, direct supervision, and opportunities to develop foundational skills in intellectual property law.
Key Responsibilities
· Assist patent attorneys with the intake and management of IP matters and correspondence.
· Support the preparation and filing of patent applications and related documents under attorney supervision.
· Draft standard forms, templates, and correspondence for attorney review and filing.
· Organize and maintain IP-related data, agreements, and documents utilizing applicable tools and systems within the Law Department, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with department procedures.
· Track deadlines, run reports, and assist with docket management for the patent team.
· Coordinate communications with internal stakeholders and external law firms.
· Conduct basic legal research and summarize findings for attorney guidance.
Experiences/Education - Required
· Associate’s degree or equivalent education required
· 1+ years of relevant work experience in a legal, administrative, or related support role.
· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
· Ability to follow instructions, learn new processes, and apply feedback.
· Clear written and verbal communication.
· Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and willingness to learn new technology tools.
· Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
· Team-oriented mindset and readiness to support colleagues.
Experiences/Education - Desired
· Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certification preferred.

The range for this position is $41,211.00 - $56,666.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
