Role Purpose


The Paralegal will be a member of the Law Department’s Commercial & International Center of Excellence which is responsible for providing collaborative legal support for Corning’s business units to promote Corning’s global business interests while mitigating legal and business risk. This role will report to the Senior Division Counsel, Mobile Consumer Electronics with a primary focus on providing commercial legal support to Corning’s Gorilla Glass division. It is anticipated that this role will also provide support, secondary to the primary role, to the company’s Global Supply Management organization working in collaboration with the attorneys supporting that corporate function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Completes standard agreement templates, distributes for review, and obtains necessary approvals and signatures.
  • Review incoming agreement drafts from third parties, identify core issues, provides recommendations to counsel, and negotiates changes with third party.
  • Manages contract lifecycle databases using third party applications, e.g., SalesForce, Ariba, DocuSign, Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Responds to client questions and requests with input from an attorney, as required.
  • Assist with training Gorilla Glass and GSM commercial organization on contract processes and issues.

Experiences/Education - Required

  • 4+ years of relevant experience
  • Associate’s degree/equivalent education, or equivalent work experience
  • Successful track record of performance in previous work experiences
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously and adjust smoothly as the situation demands.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including effectively communicating legal issues in a clear and concise manner to a wide variety of audiences.
  • Superior analytical skills and the ability to discuss and synthesize issues.
  • Self-starter who is comfortable working independently and communicates consistently so that that responsible parties are aware of the progression of matters being handled.
  • Ability to collaborate and coordinate efficiently in an international, cross-functional team environment.
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain trusted business relationships.
  • Strong work ethic.

Experiences/Education - Desired

  • Bachelor’s degree/equivalent education or equivalent work experience
  • Paralegal certification

The range for this position is  $51,494.00   -  $70,805.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
