Key Responsibilities:

  • Translate corporate and division performance excellence objectives into site projects, leveraging continual improvement tools and methodologies
  • Create a rolling 3-year Performance Excellence strategy and training programs including employee certifications and site/division scorecards
  • Effectively manage a broad portfolio of projects (linking to site project portfolios) that support division manufacturing and quality objectives
  • Lead teams across multiple Corning functions, product lines, countries, and cultures (US, EU, AP)
  • Fosters effective communication (among management, functions, site teams, and belts) by creating adequate channels and ensuring expectations and end goals are clearly defined
  • Teach or facilitate performance excellence tool applications
  • Oversee belt utilization, assisting site management in achieving maximum belt capacity and capability
  • Coach project leaders across all sites and disciplines in the project nomination, selection, implementation, and documentation processes
  • Manage and maintain the iDMAIC programs for Advanced Optics
  • Represent Advanced Optics on the Corporate Performance Excellence Council (and backup on Quality Council) to ensure continuity of practice across the Corporation

 

Required Skills

  • Systematic project management/portfolio management tracking including charters, timelines, stage-gates, and milestones using project planning tools
  • Certified Master Black Belt or Master Black Belt with multiple project experience
  • KT leader, MEE facilitator, and/or PFP trainer experience would be appreciated
  • Excellent working knowledge of PDPD, SPC, DOE, Statistics, DMAIC, and Total Quality methods
  • A proven self-starter, influential leader, able to work in team environments to drive results
  • Knowledge of QMS systems such as ISO9000 or IATF (TS) 16949 or AS9100
  • Ability to present data analysis in both verbal/graphical form that broad audiences can understand
  • Functional expert in all areas of performance excellence methodologies
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Education

 

Required Education/Training:

  • Bachelor of Science degree or Engineering
  • Certified master Black Belt (or in process of obtaining)

 

Travel:  25% average up to 50%
