Scope of Position:

Support multiple innovation programs in a number of industries and markets. Support the broad manufacturing strategy, driving to stretch targets for cost, quality, capability, and capacity for growth opportunities.


This position will be responsible for providing process support during technology introductions / startups and qualifications. The individual is expected to have broad technical skills and experience as well as strong interpersonal skills to work with people of diverse cultural and technical background in a global business environment.


Role and Responsibilities:

  • Interface with development, engineering, and suppliers to support with design and development products, equipment and manufacturing processes
  • Work in cross functional teams and apply traditional project methodologies of performance.
  • Interface with development and plant engineering to define and lead experimental trials of new products, processes, and technology
  • Apply the fundamentals and engineering principles to minimize process defects, reduce cycle time and cost
  • Engage in the manufacturing process development work including experiment planning, data analysis & reporting results
  • Collaborate with development groups in advancing fundamental understanding & evaluating new process and/or product ideas
  • Support scale-up and transfer of feasible technologies to manufacturing
  • Identify low-cost manufacturing opportunities that maintain the specified quality level
  • Use hands-on approach to solve problems and improve processes /equipment based on fundamental understanding and structured problem-solving methods such as KT, Designed Experimentation, or Six Sigma • Implement Process Control and Process Discipline systems into manufacturing operations
  • Analyze process data using statistical tools (e.g. pareto, regression, time charting, analysis of variance, gauge R&R, etc.)
  • Measure and communicate performance against established objectives • Review and interpret data to make recommendations on immediate actions, long term corrective actions, follow-up experiments, etc.

Travel Requirements:

  • Estimate travel up to 20% at times depending upon specific project assignment. Travel may be required during installation, debug, and start-up as well as for routine interaction with Customers and Suppliers. This would be a combination of domestic and international travel.


Education and Experience:

  • B.S./M.S. in Technical Discipline (Chemical/Mechanical/Materials Engineering preferred)
  • 5+ years in a technical field to include: Continual Process Improvement, Process control, quality systems 
  • Quality architecture understanding (preferred) 
  • New process/product development 
  • Technology or Product Transfer (preferred) 
  • Process/equipment design, build, installation debug
  • Manufacturing Experience is preferred
