The Global Supply Management (GSM) Function is recognized as a critical function for business success.  It delivers the training, tools and opportunities needed to create innovative solutions for the function & the corporation.  GSM has leading edge, effective processes to anticipate and exceed customer requirements.

 

Scope of Position

 

Responsible for execution of procurement strategies to manage sourcing of quality products, equipment and services. Responsible for assured supply of materials, minimizing inventories, optimum material utilization, and supplier performance while continuously identifying and implementing opportunities to lower total cost of ownership and mitigate risk (e.g. on-time, best price, high quality).

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Ensure compliance with Global Buying Policy (GBP) and standard Global Supply Management (GSM) Source-to-Pay (S2P) processes and tools.
  • Promote and support the effective use of buying channels and procurement tools, including p-cards, e-catalogs, requisitions, purchase orders, and supplier portals.
  • Create, maintain, and manage supplier and contractual documentation in Ariba, including supply agreements, SOWs, pricing agreements, NDAs, COIs, and onboarding records.
  • Review and convert purchase requisitions into purchase orders in SAP and Ariba, including obtaining and evaluating quotations, bids, and supporting documentation.
  • Act as the primary contact for procurement-related inquiries, partnering with requisitioners, suppliers, receiving, and Corning Shared Services to resolve PO, supplier setup, invoice, and payment issues.
  • Coordinate supplier onboarding, vendor master data maintenance, and related activities while safeguarding intellectual property and proprietary information.
  • Support procurement and plant operations through request intake, issue resolution, compliance monitoring, data analysis, metrics reporting, performance tracking, continuous improvement, and inventory-related activities where applicable.

 

Education and Experience Required:

 

  • AAS degree OR 5 years of supply chain experience
  • Minimum 2 years experience with procurement processes and systems
  • ERP systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Experience collecting and analyzing data

 

Desired Skills:

 

  • Green Belt Certification and/or Project Management experience
  • Negotiations

  • SAP

The range for this position is $53,246.00 - $73,213.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
