Position Purpose

As a Product Line Manager (PLM), you will be responsible for developing and executing a product line strategy that supports the achievement of sales and profitability targets for the Gorilla Glass business.  This role requires collaboration with the three main verticals of Corning – development, manufacturing, and sales.  The PLM will be responsible for driving development project schedules, supporting mass production operations, and representing Corning to the customer.  While the main are of ownership for the PLM will be supply planning and development, other responsibilities will include business case development, assisting with forecasting, and serving as a key collaborator with the Gorilla Glass commercial, finance, manufacturing, quality, and engineering organizations for day-to-day operations.

Requirements

  • MBA or equivalent demonstrated experience (i.e., extensive experience in business)
  • Minimum of one year’s work experience in product line management, marketing, manufacturing, and/or engineering within an engineering based and customer-focused environment
  • Demonstrated track record of managing projects and leading/influencing multi-functional teams
  • Strong analytical skills with able to turn quantitative analysis into meaningful business insights
  • Demonstrated self-confidence, ability to effectively communicate and influence senior management
  •  Must be available for significant travel, primarily domestic, to multiple locations to support business needs

Responsibilities

  • Primary commercial representative in short/long-term supply planning initiatives both internally and externally
  • Work with external stakeholders on development schedules and new opportunities for Gorilla Glass
  • Lead the development of account annual product line plans, Green Book (5-year plan) and Black Book (Budget)
  • Optimize inventory management related to the product line by coordinating information flow, as needed, between Forecasting, Sales, Manufacturing, and other parties as needed
  • Develop business cases and value propositions that address customer needs on new products under development
  • Lead presentations to leadership on new composition and program opportunities
  • Work with Program Management to develop and launch new products
  • Ensure the external development roadmap is executable within Gorilla Glass’ capability schedule
  • Support capital investment projects through the Capricorn process and develop commercial justification

The range for this position is $148,181.00 - $203,749.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
