Scope of Position:

This position is in the Sullivan Park Operations Directorate, within the Laboratory Services Management & Engineering (LSME) Department. The primary function of the department is to provide support for R&D activities by providing professional services in project management, infrastructure engineering, and laboratory space management. This position is responsible for the development and execution of projects at Sullivan Park by leveraging Project Management Principles and Processes. This is a technical individual contributor position with a focus on use and implementation of project management best practices in order to improve project performance in quality, cost, delivery & safety in support of S&T project requests. A key function of this job is customer interfacing, involving understanding the customer’s processes and needs, negotiating with multiple customers, maintaining good customer relationships, and providing the customer with the most efficient support. The position also requires significant interface with facility infrastructure systems to enable laboratory space evaluations for process suitability and cost estimates. The expectation is that this position will proactively plan for customer project requirements and project delivery efficiency improvements.


Day to Day Responsibilities:

1. Participate and support the department’s safety initiatives

2. Effectively manage projects through the entire project life-cycle from initiation to close-out

3. Utilize Project Management tools, techniques and methodologies

4. Assess suitability of infrastructure system for specific customer requirements

5. Rough Order of Magnitude cost estimation

6. Ensure design of infrastructure system/tie-ins meet specific customer and stakeholder requirements

7. Project plan definition

8. Project change management/control

9. Maintain record of Project Performance Metrics

10. Communication to stakeholders and project leadership

11. Management and coordination of outside engineering resources

12. Management and coordination of trades and outside contractors


Travel Requirements: <5%, Conferences or internal customer request as approved by manager

Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time: Typical 8am-5pm, or as determined appropriate by manager


Required Education: Preferred BS in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, or relevant).

Required Years and Area of Experience: 3-5 years of experience in Engineering Discipline with at least 3 years Project/Manufacturing/Leadership role.
