Role Purpose

Corning Global Security (CGS) drives the delivery of life-changing innovation by protecting Corning’s People, Property and Values. We deliver results through vigilance, responsiveness, and a strong alignment with Corning's business priorities. The protective services specialist is integral in providing a safe and secure environment for our senior executives. This position will report directly to the Manager, Protective Services.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide secure transportation to company executives, visiting dignitaries, VIP’s, and others as designated.
  • Conduct advance planning of venues, identify appropriate mitigations efforts, and communicate details to key-stakeholders
  • Receive, prioritize, and execute requests for support from executives
  • Provide support for or in some cases, develop security plans for specific events
  • Conduct residential checks and inspections
  • Monitor security systems and respond to alarms
  • Attend required training and maintain strict adherence to the SOP document
  • Liaison with governmental agencies and other key-stakeholders
  • Mitigate threats and vulnerabilities to executives via investigations, proactive means, site visits, data gathering and analysis and by leveraging OSINT or other intelligence gathering tools
  • Provide medical intervention if the need arises (CPR/AED/ First Aid)
  • Conduct risk assessments of travel destinations
  • Coordinate and schedule vendors and service providers
  • Other duties as assigned

Experiences/Education - Required

  • Willingness to travel domestically and occasional internationally
  • Possess NYS armed security license or ability to obtain within 90 days
  • Successful completion of a comprehensive executive protection training course or ability to complete the training within the first year of employment
  • Experience making high-stress decisions in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with the ability to work with little to no supervision
  • Ability to work a non-traditional schedule, including evenings, weekends, and some holidays
  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of formal education, training and/or experience
  • Possess a valid driver’s license
  • Ability to: collect, organize, synthesize, and analyze data; summarize findings; develop conclusions and recommendations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with protective intelligence

Experiences/Education - Desired

  • TSA/ASO certification or certification eligible
  • Executive Protection Institute certification

The range for this position is  $75,024.00   -  $103,158.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
