Corning’s Display Technologies segment manufactures glass substrates for active matrix liquid crystal displays (“LCDs”) that are used primarily in LCD televisions, notebook computers and flat panel desktop monitors.  The Quality Systems Engineer role will support the Corning Display Technologies segment.   



SCOPE/PURPOSE OF POSITION: - In this position, you will interface with multiple external and internal suppliers to ensure steel and refractory component quality standards are met.  Our suppliers operate in non-cleanroom environments, in a job shop setting, to procure, fabricate, assemble, and supply components ranging from basic off-the-shelf parts to large 100+ component assemblies.



  • Investigate CAPAs (Corrective Action Preventive Action) and initiate supplier SCARs (Supplier Corrective Action Report), Facilitate CAPA/SCAR status review meetings
  • Interface with the supplier related to the SCAR and manage through the electronic quality management software
  • Interface with the supplier related to drawing technical inquires and manage through the quality management software
  • Participate in Supplier quality audits to determine compliance to Division Engineering quality requirements
  • Work across various functional groups (internal and external) to accomplish goals related to determining root cause and corrective action plan implementation



  • BS in Engineering or higher (Mechanical, Materials)
  • Minimum 2-5 years of experience in Manufacturing and/or Quality



  • Audit experience, supplier and/or ISO  
  • Understand quality management system methods, CAPA, 5 why, etc.
  • Proficient in interpreting mechanical drawings  and a high level of technical curiosity
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, presentation),  
  • SolidWorks, AutoCAD to view models/drawings,  Strong Excel and PowerPoint
  • Effective leadership, organization, and planning skills, with ability to handle changing priorities  
  • Demonstrated track record of on time delivery within budget; ability to drive projects to successful conclusion using influencing tools
  • Ability to lead international teams across multiple initiatives that span various lines of business, geographic borders, time zones, and cultures
  • Must be a self starter, able to work in team environment and motivate others



  • The ability to gather, analyze, and create visualizations from data
  • Experience with GD&T
  • Six Sigma training (Green or Black Belt certification would be preferred)
