Scope of Position:

Develop and fully characterize adhesion performance for use in adhesives, coatings, inks, and binders.


Day to Day Responsibilities:

Direct research in the area of adhesives / adhesion applications. Documentation and presentation of results in both written and oral form on a regular basis will also be required. The position will also require responsibility for setting technical direction, supervision of technician support, and laboratory safety and hygiene.


Travel Requirements (please note if international): minimal (<10%)

Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time: 40 hr. work week, flex time possible.


Required Education (minimum required for consideration) :

A master’s degree with 10 years experience in formulation/adhesive development or a PhD with 5 years of relevant experience.

Educational background in chemistry, polymer science or adhesion science.


Required Years and Area of Experience (minimum required for consideration) :

5-10 years industrial experience with an emphasis in the areas of adhesives and adhesion science.


Required Skills:(These are skills that candidates MUST possess)

  •  Demonstrated ability to develop adhesives that meet application requirements with an emphasis on building the fundamental knowledge underpinning the formulation performance. 2. Proficient in polymer structure property relationships and effects on adhesion
  •  Ability to use Excel, Microsoft Word, Powerpoint
  •  Technical writing and oral presentations
  •  Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment


Desired Skills ((These are skills that would be nice for candidates to possess)

  •  Experience with applied adhesive applications
  •  Experience with adhesive formulation
  •  Understanding of fracture mechanics
  • Understanding of surface treatment and analysis (WCA, SFE, Plasma, etc) and mechanisms
  • Project management experience
  •  Leadership skills
