Scope of Position:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Research Technician to join our innovative Organic Materials research team at Corning. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented scientist with a strong foundation in Chemistry and/or Polymer Science to contribute to the development of advanced materials and processes for inks, adhesives, and coatings.

Key Responsibilities:
- Work with scientists to plan and carry out required experiments to advance progress against project objectives
- Preparation of testing specimens, routine operation of standardized testing, assisting with non-standard experimentation and methods development, maintaining and basic troubleshooting of equipment
- Develop and update operation and experiment SOP and related documents
- Perform equipment maintenance and upkeep as needed
- Assist in the organization and management of lab inventory, prioritize experiments
- Perform coating process and experiments, monitor experiment and process and give feedback as needed
- Involvement with experimental design, communicate monitored process observation, perform related measurement and collect measurement data
Experiences/Education - Required:
- Bachelor degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Adhesion Science, or a related field.
- Familiar with basic laboratory equipment and instrumentation, such as UV/Vis, IR, Instron, etc.
- Basic knowledge of organic/polymer chemistry
- Ability to work safely with organic chemicals
- Self-starter – independent
- Hands-on technical aptitude
- Highly organized and good attention to detail, rigorous execution, and data accuracy
- Good at multi-tasking – working on several deliverables at the same time
Experiences/Education - Desired:
- Direct industrial experience working with coatings, inks, and/or adhesives
- Proficient with JMP and/or Minitab

The range for this position is $71,099.00 - $97,762.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
