Scope of Position

  • Work on specialty fiber optic connectivity projects like polarization maintaining fiber, multicore fiber and hollow core fiber connectivity
  • Lead lab work and lab automation for specialty fiber optic connectivity projects
  • Keep lab function and operating safely

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, procure, build, calibrate, automate and document fiber optic measurement and assembly systems
  • Maintain all equipment and automation software
  • Interact and provide technical guidance to coworkers through meetings, emails, face to face discussions and by writing and providing documentation

Required Education and Experience

  • Associate degree required
  • LabVIEW training and on-the-job learning in lab automation
  • Proficient in lab automation software like LabVIEW
  • Proficient in all fiber optic build procedures including non-standard fiber splicing, rotational alignment and measurement of PMF, MCF and HCF
  • Proficient in all types of fiber optic measurement system calibration
  • Ability to identify when results seem odd and willingness to communicate them in a timely manner
  • Good documentation skills for software and RTR writing

The range for this position is $89,125.00 - $122,547.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
