Position Purpose

The Senior Marketing Communications Specialist serves as Marketing Communications support to help our Emerging Innovations Group (EIG) business leads accomplish their desired goals. This role designs collateral and develops marketing materials that support global efforts, drives customer discussions, and influences purchasing decisions for EIG businesses. They develop content for various communications tools, including Web, promotional materials, videos, photography, tradeshows, presentations, brochures, graphics, posters, and product information sheets, etc. The Senior Marketing Communications Specialist develops ideas, writes, and edits content for internal and external audiences and leads approvals processes. In addition, they help support media interviews and interactions across Science & Technology (S&T) and EIG businesses. As well as provide communications support across S&T’s global locations working across various managerial levels; and coordinating with corporate communications and other Corning businesses as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in communications, journalism, or related fields
  • 5+ years of related experience with proven success in project management skills assessing priorities and moving multiple assignments forward in tandem effectively and efficiently
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills, ability to craft messaging, ensure accuracy and consistency in communications, and apply different writing styles per audience
  • Ability to work with different level managers across multiple functions, anticipate challenges, analyze and limit risks and recommend and execute alternate scenarios as needed
  • High skill level with Adobe Design Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, PhotoShop) or similar design tools and Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
  • Ability to learn and understand new technologies and markets
  • Up to 25% travel - mostly domestic travel; Potential for limited international travel

Responsibilities

  • Engage with subject matter experts to identify value prop of emerging businesses; Use that information to create communications plans, sell sheets, brochures, graphics, posters, and other materials that support S&T, EIG, and corporate initiatives
  • Collaborate with various EIG teams to identify internal and external promotional opportunities, lead product naming projects, and tradeshows
  • Coordinate with corporate communications on corporate and business events related to S&T and EIG initiatives, as appropriate
  • Lead projects that involve vendors, work within budgets, and meet timelines
  • Plan events, lead meetings and manage projects

The range for this position is $70,350.00 - $96,732.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
