Role Purpose

Support the Laboratory Services Management & Engineering Project Management team within Sullivan Park Operations by coordinating administrative, cost-control, documentation, quality, and onsite activities for R&D capital construction projects. This technical individual contributor role partners closely with Project Managers, construction resources, vendors, and stakeholders to improve project delivery efficiency from initiation through closeout. 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide project administration support, including meeting coordination, agendas, minutes, schedules, SharePoint project repositories, and stakeholder communications.
  • Coordinate site access, badging, escorts, visitor logistics, project events, shipping/receiving, and vendor invoice processing.
  • Track purchase orders, procurement activities, project costs, forecasts, asset disposition plans, capitalization, and depreciation schedules using systems such as PeopleSoft and Maximo.
  • Support Project Managers with System Change Requests, receiver requirements, and regular cost and performance reporting.
  • Conduct regular construction-site visits to observe safety practices, work progress, delivered materials, staffing, and compliance with construction documents.
  • Maintain project records, site documentation, progress photographs, contractor as-builts, and closeout materials.
  • Assist with commissioning, substantial-completion inspections, punch-list coordination, and closeout administration.
  • Proactively identify upcoming project needs, resolve issues before they affect delivery, and maintain strong working relationships with internal customers and external partners.

 

Experiences/Education - Required

  • Associate degree (AS/AAS) in Construction Management, Business, Engineering Technology, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a business, engineering, construction, facilities, maintenance, or customer-support environment; or an engineering background with at least 2 years of experience supporting facility/infrastructure or process-equipment projects.
  • Demonstrated experience leading or coordinating small-scale projects or project workstreams.
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation, including specifications, schematics, and floor plans.
  • Strong written, verbal, presentation, customer-service, and teamwork skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and Project.
  • Experience working safely in environments involving hazardous chemicals and gases.

 

Experiences/Education - Desired

  • Bachelor’s degree or additional technical training in Construction Management, Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related discipline.
  • Experience supporting capital construction, laboratory, infrastructure, or facilities projects.
  • Ability to read system drawings and schematics and provide basic design or construction oversight.
  • Familiarity with engineering and construction processes, project accounting, procurement, and contractor coordination.
  • Knowledge of laboratory infrastructure and facility systems, including HVAC, air handlers, exhaust systems, pumps, electrical distribution, and process-gas distribution.
  • Experience with project management, enterprise accounting, procurement, or maintenance systems such as SharePoint, PeopleSoft, and Maximo.

The range for this position is $70,662.00 - $97,160.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
