Role Purpose

We are seeking a Metrology Technician to join our GG Development Metrology QA & Test team. As a Metrology Technician you will be involved in calibrating, validating, and maintaining glass stress metrology systems used for production and development. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and performance of our metrology systems. This individual will be responsible for system QA, calibrations, maintenance duties, validations, software QA, hardware, and optics testing. The position involves a combination of technical expertise, problem-solving, and communication skills to support cross-functional teams in engineering, science, and manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform system QA and GRRs to ensure overall integrity of the hardware and software.
  • Perform system calibrations, validations, routine maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and upgrades.
  • Develop and perform software QA (functionality, performance, regression, and security) test plans and cases.
  • Identify, characterize, document and report bugs to software team.
  • Develop and maintain calibration and measurement SOPs.
  • Analyze business and user needs to identify opportunities for metrology hardware, software, and process improvements.
  • Provide technical support and training to engineers, scientists, and technicians. 

Experiences/Education - Required

  • 2 year (AAS) technical degree from an accredited institution OR 3+ years of work experience in Engineering, technical skilled trades or related technical fields.
  • Hands-on experience with troubleshooting, repairing, and upgrading metrology systems.
  • Proficiency in analyzing complex systems to identify and resolve technical issues.
  • Familiarity with software QA and bug tracking tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting, training, and collaboration.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

The range for this position is $70,421.00 - $96,829.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
