Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

 

Position Purpose:

 In this position, the Short-Term Forecast/Demand Management Analyst will perform a variety of administrative functions in support of sales forecasting and demand management activities. The Short-Term Forecast/Demand Management Analyst, will follow established procedures, consolidate, and analyze data, and ensure accuracy and consistency within functional models. This role is supporting the implementation of forecast and demand management model and process improvements.

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years working as an Analyst in Commercial, Business, or Finance
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, or similar
  • Moderate to advanced knowledge of Excel, Power BI Dashboards, and PowerPoint
  • Strong analytical mindset (critical thinker), detail oriented, organized, focused, and an ability to maintain accuracy with large data sets
  • Ability to take the initiative to ensure functional objectives are met and recommend process opportunities once identified
  • Ability to interact effectively and maintain composure working across several functional areas and international cultures; as well as collaborating within a diverse environment throughout multiple regions

 

Desired:

  •  Knowledge of optical fiber manufacturing, and products
  • Commercial experience within the telecommunications industry
  • Familiarity working with international regions and cultures 
  • Proven ability to manage complex data sets
  • Knowledge of various Business Intelligence tools such as SQL and Databricks

 

Responsibilities:

  • User of Short-Term Forecast and Demand Management files that are primarily in Excel. Excel processes include (and are not limited to) formula writing, data linking, and power pivots; Work includes Short-Term Forecast model maintenance (changes, updates, consistency) and ensuring Short-Term Forecast model accuracy as well as maintaining access levels, distribution lists and SharePoint updates
  • Support all key Short-Term Forecast objectives and deadlines: Primarily focusing on data collection, consolidation, analysis and accuracy
  • Participate in all regional and global Short-Term Forecast and Demand Management meetings
  • Supports all Short-Term Forecast and Demand Management data population and reporting/publishing requirements: Primarily maintaining models and ensuring accuracy of models and reporting
  • Proposes, coordinates, and maintains the Short-Term Forecast calendar, meetings, and updates
  • Acts as a backup for Demand Management Analyst and Supervisor when resources are out of the office

The range for this position is  $75,534.00   -  $103,860.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
