Scope:

  • Signals Operations Analyst Signals Operations, a part of CGS Investigations, leads the discovery and integration of information (intelligence) in order to identify, analyze, and resolve risk to the People, Information and Operations of Corning Incorporated. We work closely with the larger investigations team to identify and support cases. The Signals Operations Analyst reviews events from various traffic channels. These events are generated when traffic meets certain pre-set criteria. The goal is to identify risks to Corning among the events populating the queue in a timely and effective manner. The judgment, alignment, and thoroughness of the analyst is the most critical part of accomplishing this. The team is building best practices, new processes, and developing creative approaches to accomplish our mission. Therefore, the analyst must be both creative and rigorous at problem solving, as well as sufficiently technical in nature to support the administration of software tools. The Values of Integrity, Quality, and the Individual are of utmost importance to the Signals Operations team.

 

Daily Responsibilities include:

  • Daily monitoring of many risk events
  • Rigorous and complete analysis of events based on Corning’s values, the department’s mission, our customer’s needs, and alignment to our internal partners in Investigations
  • Configuration and calibration of software tools to better meet our objectives and those of our customers using logical thinking and a careful, testing-minded approach
  • Meet with customers to review needs and implement their requirements according to internal best practices
  • Produce accurate and contextualized reporting of data generated by our software tools and multiple sources
  • Author, review, and adapt operational documentation to support consistency and governance
  • Collaborate closely with IT resources to trouble-shoot, problem solve, and maintain software tools
  • Contribute to case reviews, escalate cases based on standard process, and continuously calibrate activity according to investigative needs

 

Required skills / qualifications:

  • Strict adherence to the Values of Integrity and the Individual
  • Comfort working in a small, high-performance team environment
  • Ability to work with ITAR or otherwise federally regulated materials
  • Comfort with the detailed administration and configuration of complex software tools
  • Ability to seek out and align to rigorous process expectations

Desired skills:

  • Precise, clear, complete, and contextualized report writing
  • An understanding of Corning’s business and assets
  • Advanced technical skill sets / background, especially in data science, use of APIs, SQL, data visualization
  • Using statistics for trending and anomaly detection
  • Understanding and ability to implement principles of Quality and continuous improvement
  • Language fluency beyond English
  • Curiosity and a drive to improve

 

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s with 2+ years’ experience
