Scope of Position:
The corporate marketing and communications organization at Corning Incorporated is focused on protecting and strengthening Corning’s brand and reputation globally. The organization is committed to delivering world-class communications, which are continually advanced through the sharing of best practices, the use of benchmarking and analytics, and ongoing professional development.
Corning’s Corporate Communications social media team is looking for a talented student pursuing a degree in communications, marketing, or related field of study to join the organization in support of social media priorities for the summer of 2025.
As a member of the Corporate Communications social team, the social media intern will support the development and execution of social media content and campaigns. The intern will also help the team with community management across its platforms and should be prepared to work on paid promotions and executive thought leadership. This role will work in close collaboration with other functions such as brand, talent acquisition, external, and analytics. The social media team will also collaborate with team members from Corning’s five Market Access Platforms, which include Optical Communications, Display, Mobile Consumer Electronics, Automotive, and Life Sciences.

Requirements:
- The candidate is required to be pursuing a bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Advertising (or similar field) going into their junior year or senior year. Candidates may also be enrolled in a master’s program to which they will return in the Fall.
- Must be available for 10 weeks during Summer 2026 (May 27th – July 31st, 2026) with a graduation date of December 2026 or later.
- Be interested in working for Corning, Inc after graduation, if presented with a full-time job opportunity.

Required Skills:
- Knowledge and experience across the social media platforms
- A keen eye for creating graphics and visuals to support strategic narratives
- Mobile video production and editing experience
- Ability to spot and highlight social trends to leverage for Corning’s content
- Excellent writing skills and high attention to detail
- Strong research and analytical skills
- Ability to communication effectively and efficiently
- Ability to work comfortably across all levels of an organization, including with c-suite leadership
- Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing project requirements
- Ability to handle many tasks, assess priorities, and meet deadlines
- Ability to work as part of a collaborative team as well as competency to work independently and lead agreed upon action plans with minimal supervision

The range for this position is $1,635.00 - $3,185.00 biweekly. Starting pay for the successful applicant is prescribed based on geographic location, nature of position, and year in school.
