Role Purpose

Corning’s Corporate Communications function is seeking a Social Media Specialist to support the editorial and creative strategy for all current and potentially future corporate channels.

 

The ideal candidate is a proactive, results-oriented professional who has a pulse on the social media landscape. We’re looking for a self-starter who has a hunger to learn and push the creative strategy for a global brand. This candidate will develop robust, integrated paid and owned/earned strategies to help Corning tell its story in a new way. They will also work cross-functionally to build, execute, and measure highly effective integrated campaigns.

Key Responsibilities

  • Help develop and launch content on Corning’s corporate channels to help support Corning’s business priorities across industries and regions around the world.
  • Maintain and develop KPIs and reporting processes to track channel and post performances and spotlight actionable insights
  • Work with external agency partners to develop creative material to support external marketing campaigns.
  • Work closely with regional teams to develop content for global representation across channels
  • Identify opportunities to promote and encourage social media employee advocacy across Corning’s business
  • Align with PR, communications and marketing teams on priorities and support overarching SEO, AIO, and metrics goals
  • Work with colleagues across the organization to create and promote stories of Corning’s impact on its communities around the world.
  • Foster and develop community management across Corning’s social media channels to engage our audiences, encourage positive interactions, and moderate comments
  • Partner with Corning leadership to shape and execute their social media strategy, including developing leadership-focused content and supporting employee advocacy efforts.
  • Support crisis monitoring and strategy as well as proactive social listening to help inform content and strategy
  • Develop dedicated, creative social media campaigns designed to engage key stakeholders, including prospective talent, customers, investors, and industry analysts.
  • Stay abreast and update the team on the latest social tools, channels, and industry trends

Experiences/Education - Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, public relations, or a related field
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • Outstanding organizational and planning abilities
  • Extremely strong written and oral communications skills

Required Skills

  • Knowledge across the social media platforms including experience working on social media campaigns
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including attention to detail and strong editing skills
  • Experience with storytelling, influencer marketing, and building a global community through social media
  • Familiarity with social media publishing platforms like Sprinklr, Sprout Social, Hootsuite, etc.
  • An understanding of the trends on major social media channels as well as knowledge about smaller, niche, and developing channels
  • Design capabilities including basic graphic design (Photoshop, Canva, etc.), photography, and video production.
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Ability to work comfortably across all levels of an organization, including with c-suite leadership with a foundation of proven stakeholder management
  • Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing project requirements
  • Ability to handle many tasks, assess priorities, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work as part of a collaborative team as well as competency to work independently and lead agreed upon action plans with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated experience using AI-powered tools (e.g.,, social listening, workflow automation, design etc.) to enhance social media strategy, optimize publishing, and improve engagement.

The range for this position is $70,350.00 - $96,732.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
