Scope of Position (i.e. projects involved with and role within group):

As a Software Development UI/UX Engineer in the IOX metrology development group, this role will consist of software interface development for glass stress metrology ensuring best practices with user interface and user experience. It will involve long term project commitments and potential travel.

 

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Develop and improve existing user interfaces/experience in Winforms, WPF & MVVM.
  • Gather and evaluate user requirements in collaboration with product managers and engineers
  • Illustrate design ideas using storyboards, process flows
  • Assists in developing, testing and deploying software used in contract manufacturing/finishing
  • Identify and troubleshoot UX problems (e.g. responsiveness)
  • Conduct layout adjustments based on user feedback
  • Adhere to style standards on fonts, colors and images

 

Travel Requirements (please note if international):

  • 10-20% international travel

 

Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time:

  • 8-5 Flex Available

 

Education and Experience (minimum required for consideration)

  • Bachelor's Degree or Associates Degree in related.
  • 2+ years of experience with front end development

 

Required Skills

  • Knowledge of Software Development tools (.NET languages: C#, VB, Object oriented programming).
  • Experience with MVVM and WPF
  • Source control systems (e.g., GIT and SVN)
  • Proven record of delivering UI components with excellent usability
  • Ability to work independently, in situations where information or understanding is lacking.  Must be able to quickly isolate issues, find the pertinent information, and apply the correct solutions.
  • Good customer communication skills.
  • Ability and desire to independently learn new skills to meet corporate and customer requirements.
  • Self-Starter.  Motivated to identify problems and develop solutions independently.
  • Track record of delivering results and meeting deadlines.

 

Desired Skills

  • Experience with Software Development tools (.NET languages: C#, VB, Object oriented programming).
  • Agile / Collaborative Method
  • Experience with CD/CI.
  • Highly refined communications skills, both verbal and written.

  • High degree of flexibility to deal with the continually changing project landscape.
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities.
  • Communications with all levels of multiple organizations is important.  Customer interface skills are constantly put to use.
