Scope of Position (i.e. projects involved with and role within group):

(1) Product and value prop development for Gorilla Glass and new Glass Ceramic materials

(2) Lead Raman metrology development and operations for glass ceramics

(3) Coordinate IOX and IOX metrology projects, and data analysis for key customer  

 

Day to Day Responsibilities:

(1) Work with cross-functional team on product and value prop development

(2) Design and execute on experiments and test plans, analyze and interpret the results

(3) Work with IOX metrology team on development on metrology for compositions and materials, including glass ceramics and opaque glass ceramics

(4) Work with Glass Research and Development, and with Raman SMEs on developing Raman metrology code for new materials, and transfer to the production team.

(5) Manage lab ops for Raman metrology

(6) Ensure quick results delivery on customer facing requests.  

 

Travel Requirements (please note if international):

10%, may be international  

Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time: 40hours/week with flex time  

 

Education and Experience (minimum required for consideration)

At least a Master’s/PhD in Material Science/Engineering, Physics, Chemical, Mechanical or related field. Experience: Some experience is desired, but not necessary  

 

Required Skills (These are skills that candidates MUST possess)

(1) Knowledge of materials and structure/properties relationships

(2) Familiar with design of experiments and data analysis skills

(3) Process development skills  

 

Desired Skills (These are skills that would be nice for candidates to possess)

(1) Knowledge of waveguiding optics

(2) Knowledge of Raman spectroscopy and characterization methods for crystal phases

(3) Knowledge and experience with ion diffusion and/or ion exchange

(4) Failure mode analysis experience

(2) Ability to work on fast paced projects

(3) Effective communication skills

(4) Scientific curiosity and desire to dig into fundamentals and drive projects
