Role Purpose

Works with other team members to solve difficult technical and engineering-related problems in a hands-on R&D and development environment. Supports new equipment development, technical troubleshooting, process and equipment improvements, and new product or process introductions. Helps translate evolving customer and technical needs into practical equipment and engineering solutions that support development work today and future manufacturing possibilities tomorrow. Supports safe, reliable, and effective operation of specialized equipment while contributing to technical understanding, continuous improvement, and cost-effective execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day hands-on engineering and troubleshooting support across development, research, and pilot-scale operations
• Troubleshoot equipment, mechanical systems, material flow, and related technical issues, identify root cause, and implement corrective actions
• Support equipment modifications, setup changes, repairs, and documentation in an iterative development environment
• Partner with scientists, technicians, and other engineers to develop practical solutions for evolving process and equipment needs
• Support new product and process introductions through equipment installation, certification, training, and operational support
• Build technical understanding of equipment, materials, and process interactions in focused engineering areas
• Support safe equipment operation and compliance with safety and environmental requirements

Experiences/Education - Required

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent technical experience or equivalent experience in an exceptional case
• Track record of delivering results in a technical or engineering environment
• Demonstrated knowledge in a technical field
• Strong hands-on troubleshooting ability, especially with equipment and mechanical systems
• Ability to work directly with equipment in a practical, fast-moving engineering environment
• Project team membership
• Willingness to collaborate, ask questions, and work closely with scientists, technicians, and other technical partners

Experiences/Education - Desired

• Electrical systems familiarity
• Experience in prototype development, pilot operations, or specialized equipment support
• Experience in glass processing, chemical processing, hot-process, or similar manufacturing / development environments
• Green Belt Certification
• Project Team Leadership
• Shift supervisory experience
• Summer intern or progressive engineering experience within a technical field

The range for this position is $81,104.00 - $111,518.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
