The Global Supply Management (GSM) Function is recognized as a critical function for business success. Role Purpose:
We’re seeking an experienced Strategic Sourcing Leader to lead the development and execution of Global Supply Management (GSM) Strategic Sourcing strategies, policies, tactics and objectives for direct materials and Contract manufacturing that align and are linked with the business units, commercial, supply chain and manufacturing strategies. This role is responsible for creating and implementing category strategies, leading supplier negotiations, and optimizing total cost while ensuring compliance with global procurement policies. You will manage a high-performing team, build supplier relationships, and deliver measurable business results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leads the development, communication, and execution of GSM Strategic Sourcing strategies and plans to procure products or services in alignment with business objectives and strategies for assigned global commodities.
- Develops and/or assists with Strategic Sourcing with Category strategy development (short & long term) based on forecasts of future demand and taking into account economic and currency trends and conditions that affect GSM, the business, and the global commodity sourced.
- Works with the Business, Category Managers, and Plan Procurement Operations on assigned global commodities to prepare and solicit competitive bids, quotations, and proposals with pertinent specifications, terms, and conditions.
- Develops and reviews specifications, statements of work, performance terms and accept/reject criteria.
- Conducts negotiations with potential and/or current major suppliers to obtain maximum value.
- Leads the development and communication of assigned global commodities competitive (Supplier and/or Competitor focus) and commodity (Market and/or Material focus) intelligence.
- Owns the Supplier Relationship Management process for the assigned commodities including coaching team members on the development of robust key performance indicators, deploying with key executive leadership both internally and with the supplier’s key executive leadership, and coaching team on mitigating actions to improve performance.
- Develops and cultivates effective relationships with suppliers.
- Provides guidance to 7+ direct reports in the areas of demand management, external market conditions, Request for Quote/Proposal process, negotiation strategy and role play, complex contract negotiations of terms and conditions, development of simple to complex commercial/remunerations structure to drive supplier performance, and supplier relationship management to drive effective outcomes.
- Develop, maintain, and execute Shared Objectives both internally with Global Category Management and externally with key suppliers. Coach team on creation of baseline (current state) and provide coaching on market intelligence application to target desired state.
- Coach team on framework and tracking of Shared Objectives.
Champions and advocates for the Global Buying Policy. Ensures compliance. - Advocate of technology and process improvements and streamlining
- Key leader of inputs for Annual Blackbrook and budget setting process
Performance Metrics:
- Contribution Metrics in terms of NPC and Spend reduction compared to benchmarks and exceeding annual Spend reduction targets

Minimum Qualifications - Required
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 10+ years of strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management experience
- At least 3 years of experience leading and developing teams
- Proven ability to create and execute strategies, including supplier negotiations and contracts
- Strong analytical and communication skills
Desired Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain or related field
- Experience in Direct Materials
Travel & Location:
- Willingness to travel 10-25% (Domestic travel)
- This position can be based in Durham, NC, Tewksbury, MA or Corning, NY. (Hybrid)

The range for this position is $155,614.00 - $213,969.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
