Scope of Position

  • In this role, you will develop and implement reliability testing, conduct failure analysis, and recommend design improvements to enhance the product reliability and lifespan of products in real-world environments.
  • You will collaborate with research, engineering and product development teams to proactively identify risks and develop solutions that minimize failures and maximize system efficiency
  • Conduct Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), root cause analysis (RCA), and stress tests to identify and mitigate potential design issues  
  • Analyze test data and recommend improvements in materials, design, and processes to enhance product reliability

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Develop plan ands execute mechanical testing, including routine testing, customer-specific testing, and fundamental studies.
  • Coordinate with others in the technology team to meet timelines for mechanical testing.
  • Analyze data collected during testing and relay critical findings to the team
  • Document and report results and observations during testing to highlight key findings.
  • Maintain databases of critical data observed during testing so that it can be referenced in the future.
  • Interact with customers internally and externally if the need be.

Experiences/Education - Required

  • Minimum master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant discipline
  • Experience in the design and execution of reliability test plans
  • Experience with reliability testing and statistical analysis
  • Familiarity with reliability software tools (e.g., Minitab, JMP)
  • Willingness to perform non-routine testing and fundamental studies using lab equipment
  • Mechanical design skills 
  • Ability to communicate and work cross-functionally in a dynamic, fast-paced, and diverse environment 

Experiences/Education - Desired

  • Experience with DOE, FMEA or other design and risk-based methods
  • Experience with computer aided design (CAD) and modeling (FEA)
  • Knowledge of brittle and/or ductile physics of failure 
  • Knowledge in digital image correlation (DIC)

The range for this position is $76,503.00 - $105,192.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
