Role Purpose

Corning Incorporated (NYSE: GLW), one of the world’s leading innovators in material science, is seeking a Senior Tax Analyst to aide in the expansion of the Company’s Tax Operations group.

This position can be based in Charlotte, NC and will be reporting to the Sr. Manager International, Tax Operations. In this role, the Senior Tax Analyst will perform a variety of duties related to the Company’s ASC 740 income tax provisions and income tax compliance, including the following:

Primary Responsibilities

  • Preparing/reviewing quarterly and annual foreign ASC 740 income tax provisions
  • Preparing quarterly and annual consolidated income tax account rollforward and reconciliation
  • Reviewing foreign return-to-provision templates, including local GAAP/IFRS statutory financials and local country tax returns
  • Preparing and reviewing forms 5741, 8865, 8858 and relevant statements and disclosures
  • Calculating and documenting book/tax differences, E&P and Tested Income adjustments for the foreign subsidiaries
  • Assisting in the maintenance of the Company’s Sarbanes-Oxley (“SOX”) tax risk control matrix and coordinating internal and external audits
  • Prepare, maintain, review, and support tax records, returns, reports, and other related materials in compliance with all tax laws and regulations
  • Assisting with the creation, implementation, and maintenance of implementing process improvements for Tax Operations on a regular basis
  • Interact with finance, planning and other business area to receive or provide information and other special Tax Planning projects

 

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • At least 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in either a public accounting and/or multinational corporation setting
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • A working knowledge of ASC 740 Income Tax Accounting
  • Strong tax technology and presentation skills (i.e., OneSource, Power BI, Excel, Alteryx, Peoplesoft)
  • Strong tax accounting technical skills
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office products (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint), Power BI/Tableau, and Alteryx
  • Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with other internal Finance departments including Accounting, Compliance & Reporting, Corporate FP&A, and Treasury
  • Ability to analyze financial statements, general ledger accounts, and prepare supporting tax workpapers
  • Ability to research and interpret domestic and foreign income tax laws and regulations

 

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

  • CPA license
  • Advanced degree in tax a plus
  • Prior corporate income tax compliance experience
  • Experience with PeopleSoft, SAP, or another ERP software
  • Experience with OneSource Income Tax and/or OneSource Tax Provision software
  • Experience with tax research tools (e.g., BNA, RIA, and/or CCH) Directly

The range for this position is  $80,842.00   -  $111,159.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
