Role Purpose
EIG mission is to connect Corning’s extraordinary materials and process capabilities to new opportunities and build profitable new growth businesses from innovations in glass, ceramics, and other materials.
EIG technology department is looking for a process engineer to develop the injection molding process of one of its new products
Scope of the Position
- Actively engage in safety assessment/audits and ensure proper safety practices are followed
- Align on quarterly objectives and key results with the technology delivery manager
- Articulate learning objectives, design, plan, execute, document and analyze development runs for the injection molding of a lens product. Secure line time with technology deliver manager.
- Integrate experimental and modeling experiments to optimize overall resources and outcome
- Analyze problem root causes getting back to first principles and design critical experiments for fast learning
- Define process of record for sampling runs and support sampling
- Document innovations and learning in presentations, reports and invention disclosures. Support Corning’s effort to grow and protect it’s IP
- Actively participate in fostering an inclusive, safe and collaborative culture within the project
- Travel Requirements: 10-20% domestic
Experiences/Education - Required
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical, material or chemical engineering or relevant discipline.
- At least 4 years of experience overlapping with the position
- Process development
- Design of experiment, statistical analysis
- Experience with integrating modeling and experimental experiment.
- Experience with developing a new product and process with a precision Injection molding equipment and transferring successfully to manufacturing
Experiences/Education - Desired
- Powder rheology
- FEA modeling

The range for this position is $95,931.00 - $131,906.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
