Role Purpose
Lead and manage daily operational activities, including direct and indirect staff and vendors. Build and maintain strong tenant relationships, oversee operational budgets, and ensure the maintenance of high-quality standards for the facilities. Responsible for ensuring the delivery of proactive and reactive multi-skilled maintenance services that support operational efficiency and reliability. This role focuses on developing and implementing best practice strategies, leading a high-performing team, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards to align with Corning Incorporated’s business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the plant maintenance and facility functions, delivering both reactive and proactive multi-skilled maintenance services for all operational equipment and infrastructure.
- Ensure equipment reliability and optimal functionality to support business continuity and operational efficiency.
- Contribute to the creation and execution of best practice maintenance visions and strategies that drive operational performance and enhance the value of customer and facility assets.
- Develop and implement facility and maintenance management strategies that align with Corning Incorporated’s overarching business objectives.
- Ensure all maintenance and facility operations adhere to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) requirements.
- Promote and enforce a culture of safety, environmental responsibility, and regulatory compliance across all aspects of the facility.
- Conduct regular inspections and assessments of assets, buildings, and facilities to identify areas for improvement and ensure optimal functionality.
- Develop and implement corrective actions to address identified issues promptly.
- Lead and mentor a team of facility management professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Provide training, guidance, and development opportunities to build a high-performing team.
- Support maintenance operations at the Sullivan Park location, ensuring seamless coordination and execution of activities.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance maintenance processes, reduce downtime, and optimize resource utilization.
- Leverage data and analytics to identify trends and implement innovative solutions to improve facility performance.
Experiences/Education - Required
- Bachelor’s degree required, BS or MS in Engineering preferred
- Frontline supervisory or team leader experience in a production or operational environment.
- Demonstrated experience leading teams and projects to achieve measurable results.
- Familiarity with process improvement methodologies and operational systems.
- Experience with cost management and financial oversight.
- Knowledge of safety, health, and property maintenance fundamentals.
Experiences/Education - Desired
- Experience leading Union workforce.
- Experience managing operations at research facility.
- Certification in facility management or maintenance-related disciplines.
- Strong decision making and prioritization skills.
- Strong communication skills (within team, within plant, external to plant).
- Coaching/Teambuilding skills.

Hours of work/work schedule/flextime:

- Generally 1st shift, 7 a.m. – 4 p.m. Monday – Friday; some overtime required
- On call per WPS schedule rotation
- Some weekend coverage as required
- This position includes 2nd shift oversight
This position does not support immigration sponsorship.
The range for this position is $82,426.00 - $113,337.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
