Scope of Position:

  • Serve as supply chain point of contact for Advanced Windows team and for other new business development efforts in EIG project pipeline.
  • Manage internal processes for supply, inventory, and operations (SiOP) and engagements with other Corning divisions.
  • Assist with Supplier Relationship Management Process (including supplier audits).
  • Assist with creating and maintaining contractual documents (e.g., Supply Agreements, Pricing Agreements, Non-Disclosure Agreements, Certificates of Insurance).
  • Develop Risk Mitigation plans where necessary.
  • Interact with Strategic Sourcing to understand the supply base and market dynamics, support execution of commodity and supplier sourcing strategy, and identify new or alternative sources as necessary.
  • Communicate and gain alignment on negotiation strategy with Business Process Manager (BPM) and other key internal stakeholders.
  • Assist with Commodity Reviews and Supply Intelligence.
  • Recommend and help implement changes to purchasing practices/supply management to ensure conformance with established laws, policies, and ethical principles.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams focused on process improvements, cost reduction, and supply chain issue resolution.
  • Protect Intellectual Property (IP).
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external auditing requirements related especially to GSM or any other certification (if applicable).
  • Champion and advocate for the Global Buying Policy.
  • Serve as key player for Contract Administration.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Lead Advanced Windows Sales, Inventory and Operations (SiOP) process for Corning ATG glass.
  • Manage inventory and recommends ATG glass replenishment orders to support Advanced Windows operations in North America and Europe.
  • Assist with placing sample orders for Advanced Windows customers with network of Contract Manufacturers (CMs).
  • Responsible for assured supply of materials, equipment, and services, (on time, best price, high quality) in addition to competitive costs, minimizing inventories while ensuring optimum materials utilization, and supplier performance for the Emerging Innovations Group and the R, D, and E directorates as needed.
  • Work with customers to establish requirements and evaluate sourcing, cost savings, and/or value add opportunities.
  • Assist in developing sourcing strategies, including potential supply chain evaluation, intellectual property protection, total cost of ownership, and supplier and market intelligence (e.g., cost models, low-cost sourcing activities, consortiums, competitive bidding).
  • Ensure sourcing strategies include focus on multi sourcing and risk mitigation plans to ensure business can meet future growth plans.
  • Assist with lead buyer sourcing activities, including creating RFI, RFP, and RFQ’s (requests for information, proposal, or quote).
  • Negotiate agreements and develop contracts with potential and/or current major suppliers to obtain maximum value. Deploy suppliers and processes to Corning locations.
  • Manage supplier performance with Supplier Relationship Management tools and resolve performance issues. Collaborate with technical and engineering teams to maintain effective supplier relationships.
  • Update contribution metrics and link them with site/business cost reduction portfolio.

Requirements:

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree. Desired: Master’s degree in Supply Chain, CPM, CPSM, CPIM.
  • 1-3 years related supply chain, project management, or technical experience.
  • Experience working in a matrix environment or on a cross-functional team.
  • Experience across multiple businesses, divisions and/or technologies.

The range for this position is $65,356.00 - $89,865.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
