Enabling the planning and execution of technology transfer from Development into Production, as well as Contract Manufacturing interaction.
  • You will conduct hands on work in a laboratory and pilot environment to support Development projects with a focus towards process selection and qualification to scale-up and line establishment. You will need a deep technical understanding, as well as, industrial process experience related to coatings to develop product and processes with the appropriate physical properties as per market place requirements.
  • A detailed understanding of surface science and surface engineering including coating application, surface topography, interaction with environmental chemistry, and extensive practical knowledge of experimental design and characterization techniques should also be in your wheelhouse.
  • Concentration on coating knowledge (with a strong understanding of anti-reflective, anti-glare, and Easy-to Clean coatings) for product and process development. A focus on reflective uniformity, as well as, color uniformity regarding anti-reflective coatings specifications. Ability to work across both the adhesion, as well as, durability regarding Easy-to-Clean coating capability.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Lead the transfer of fundamental process understanding coating related projects to further thin film capability through Engineering resulting into the transfer to Manufacturing.
  • This role requires understanding surface chemistry's role in downstream processes, chemical durability and product lifetime. Focus will also include material and/or process evaluations, qualifications, transfer to manufacturing, and/or deep technical problem solving.
  • Collaborate with resources from various disciplines (research, development, engineering, manufacturing, characterization, analysis, machine vision) as well as different competencies in order to conclude most efficient results of project objectives.
  • Working closely with team members and multi-functional groups to understand customer needs, translate into requirements, define and optimize cost, product attributes and process trade-offs.
  • Drive continuous improvement activities within a program to deliver improved process capabilities, delivery, quality, and cost.
  • Engaging with external suppliers and process equipment partners to develop appropriate materials and processes for desired performance.

Travel Requirements

  • Our travel will range from 10%-40% depending on project (Including some International travel)

Required Skills

  • Experience with translating early stage/development results into scalable feasibility resulting in efficient manufacturing processes
