Purpose of the Position:

The Advanced Flow™ Reactor business focuses on an innovative technology applicable in the fields of Chemical and Pharmaceutical industries. We are today leader in this market, and we are a fast-growing business. We have a global presence with sales and application labs in China, India, USA, and Europe. The commercial team is looking for a Technical Sales Engineer with experience selling technical equipment and/or instruments sales into the pharmaceutical and chemical market, to be located in the USA and to serve USA’s customers by; engaging new and existing customers, exceeding milestones for customer acquisition and growth, enabling customer satisfaction to drive repeat sales. The successful candidate will work in a fast-changing environment and experience a truly international team environment with daily contacts with international customers, peers, and business leadership. This role will be responsible for sales growth in the US pharmaceutical and chemical markets.

 

Day to Day Responsibilities: The Technical Sales Engineer will be the key contact with the customers and will be responsible for actively driving and managing sales through the sales cycle (customer identification, initial contact, technology evaluation, sales contract, installation, technical support). The Technical Sales Engineer will have support from the application engineering team. The Technical Sales Engineer must be able to discuss Corning’s reactor technology and product positioning with both business and technical users. The successful candidate must be able to establish and maintain strong relationships throughout the sales cycle.

  • Meets sales growth targets by selling reactors to chemical and pharma accounts.
  • Accelerates client growth from laboratory scale products to industrial scale products.
  • Increases rate of new customer acquisition by identifying new customers.
  • Performs product demonstrations and installations. Provide application and technical support pre- and post-purchase.
  • Implement short and long-term sales strategies and achieve critical milestones.
  • Support and enable the success of the evolving distribution channel strategy.
  • Execute on data analytics driven lead generation and provide appropriate feedback to track success.
  • Represents the business at trade exhibitions, special events and demonstrations.

 

Education & Experience: BS in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or equivalent and 2 plus years’ experience selling instruments/equipment into pharma accounts.

 

Required Skills:

  • Familiarity with the API and pharmaceutical manufacturing value chain
  • Experience with both product-based sales and design/consulting-base sales
  • High energy, fast learner, self-motivated, team player, flexible and independent.
  • Strong organization skills.
  • Product knowledge and technical understanding for selling to customer needs
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Computer skills (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, CRM Software).

 

Work Schedule: 40 hrs/wk, 8am-5pm, flex time available.

 

Travel Requirements: 40-60% travel throughout sales territory and some international.
