Role Purpose

The RC Metrology Lab Technician supports RC development, qualification, and customer delivery activities by providing quality control (QC) measurement support within the metrology laboratory. The scope of the role includes supporting both developmental and customer‑related work to ensure quality expectations are met across RC programs, operating within established procedures and lab standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform QC measurements on developmental and customer parts per defined procedures
  • Support day‑to‑day operation of the RC metrology lab
  • Ensure accurate documentation and reporting of QC data
  • Support on‑time shipment of measured parts to customers
  • Coordinate with upstream workstreams to align measurement priorities
  • Maintain safety, cleanliness, and compliance within the lab
  • Perform QC measurements and inspections on incoming and finished parts
  • Enter, track, and maintain measurement and QC data
  • Manage part flow, inventory, and order tracking within the finishing/metrology lab

Travel Requirements/Work Schedule

  • Minimal travel expected
  • No routine international travel required
  • Standard business hours
  • Some flexibility may be required to support workload and delivery needs

Experiences/Education - Required

  • Associate degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field (manufacturing, materials, lab operations, or quality)
  • 1–3 years of experience in a laboratory, quality, or manufacturing support role
  • Basic understanding of quality control and metrology concepts
  • Experience working in a laboratory or similar environment
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures and documentation
  • Familiarity with data entry and record‑keeping systems
  • Working knowledge of laboratory safety practices
  • Hands‑on experience with basic metrology or inspection tools
  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Ability to follow procedures and quality requirements
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and record management
  • Knowledge of laboratory safety practices

Soft Skills

  • Clear and effective communication with engineers and technicians
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills
  • Collaborative, team‑oriented approach to work

Desired Skills

  • Experience in a production or R&D lab environment
  • Familiarity with QC data analysis tools
  • Experience supporting customer quality or delivery requirements
  • Exposure to ceramic or advanced materials processing
