Corning Health Services is seeking a motivated and dynamic US Regional Medical Director to join our expanding global team. In this role, you will support the Chief Medical Officer in delivering and advancing a comprehensive health strategy throughout our 68 US based manufacturing and administrative sites as well as serving as a key member of our global Health Services Leadership Team caring for over 52,000 employees in more than 30 countries worldwide. In this dynamic and high profile leadership role, the incumbent will demonstrate a rare combination of clinical acumen and proven business expertise. You will leverage your deep clinical knowledge to guide strategic decision-making, while also driving operational excellence in a multi-faceted healthcare environment. Your deep understanding and core foundation in occupational medicine will be essential in supporting our 170 year history of unparalleled expertise in glass science, ceramics science, and optical physics to develop our life-changing innovations and products.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in policy and program development, strategic planning, and implementation of standards of practice for all U.S. domestic sites
- Assist in the identification of emerging workplace health risks in the employee population and identify opportunities for mitigation
- Working alongside the Health Services Leadership Team, provide clinical leadership (oversight, education, and assessment) for U.S. onsite clinics and medical staff, including XX full-time regional and site nurses
- Work collaboratively with executives and plant leaders to develop and implement strategic plans that elevate the quality and efficiency of care delivery
- Develop and deliver evidence-based health and wellness programs that foster a culture of continuous improvement and health such as annual physicals, screening programs, annual seasonal flu clinics and collaboration with 3rd party providers to provide extended services
- Manage work-related injuries and illnesses: Oversee the management of work-related injuries and illnesses, including prompt evaluation, treatment, and appropriate follow-up care to facilitate employees' recovery and safe return to work
- Conduct medical evaluations: Consult, direct, and perform medical evaluations, including pre-employment screenings, periodic health assessments, and fitness-for-duty examinations, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards
- Provide medical advice and guidance: Offer expert medical advice and guidance to management and HR teams regarding workplace health issues, disability management, and accommodations for employees with medical conditions
- Regulatory medical expert: Actively engage with regulatory agencies and guidance to include federal, state, and local regulations related to workplace health and ensure compliance with relevant laws and guidelines
- Electronic Medical Records: Provide vendor oversight, develop, and maintain system to capture utilization and outcomes for reporting
- Train and educate employees: Conduct health and safety training programs for employees, promoting awareness and understanding of occupational health practices, injury prevention, and overall well-being
- Develop and implement clinical policies and procedures that align with the organization's vision and objectives. Review department standing operating procedures, update and share changes with staff
- Act as a liaison between medical staff and other departments, including finance, human resources, and legal
- Remain current with the latest trends and innovations in healthcare, and foster a culture of ongoing learning and development among the medical staff
- Provide leadership and support for medical staff recruitment, retention, professional development, and performance management
Qualifications:
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
- Valid medical license in the state of practice with ability to obtain licensure in NC and NY within 1 year
- Board certification in Occupational Medicine (preferred).
- Board certification in Family Practice, Emergency Medicine, or Internal Medicine may be considered with extensive experience within complex manufacturing settings
- Additional preference for graduate degrees in public health, business, or medical informatics
- Minimum of 7 years of clinical experience preferably in a manufacturing, industrial, or military settings, including at least 3 years in a leadership role
- Knowledge of relevant federal and state regulations, including OSHA and ADA
- Proven leader with strong history of managing geographically dispersed teams
- Strong understanding of workplace health and safety practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated proficiency in presenting to both internal and external audiences
- Strong history of effective partnership within cross-functional teams
- Experience with managing third party Occupational Health providers and/or vendors that support the clinical operations of clinics
- Proven track record of successfully managing medical staff and driving clinical excellence
- Demonstrated experience in strategy development, execution and delivery of outcomes
- Adept at navigating complex clinical and business environments
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify trends and develop improvement plans
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Proficient in the use of electronic medical records, Gensuite, Excel, Power Point, Word or similar programs

The range for this position is $183,872.00 - $252,824.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
