Role Purpose

Corning Advanced Optics (AO) is seeking an exceptional professional with strong leadership skills to join our AO Business Transformation team as an RTR (SAP S4 Record to Report / FICO) Value Stream Lead.   The Value Stream Lead (VSL) represents an AO Value Stream, or several, and ensures the business processes in their Value Stream are accurately defined and represented as part of the SAP/ERP Transformation program solution. The VSL role is an internal assignment that requires full-time engagement on the SAP/ERP Transformation program and other foundational platforms like IBP, Sales Force and Camstar. Supported systems include SAP S/4 Private Instance, SAP Business One, SAP ECC, IBP, Epicor, Max.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and resolve complex technical issues resulting from fit gap (Corning global template) analyses. Focus on SAP S/4HANA Finance modules: GL, AP, AR, CO, Assets, and Group Reporting
  • Translate Business User functional requests requirements to build SAP technical objects utilizing best practices.
  • Work across multiple teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Conduct working sessions with business users as required.
  • Understanding of SAP S/4 HANA/IBP/ECC/APO/GTS and table structures, data elements/fields, & table inter-dependencies.
  • Work with data and plant teams to ensure data is cleansed and loaded to S4 with high quality for Finance related objects (ie; chart of accounts, cost, inventory).
  • Collaborate with Solution Architects, Service Lines, Enterprise Architects and Business Engagement to translate business requirements and IT enterprise architecture into well-defined technical solutions/requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS, GAAP, tax, and local statutory regulations
  • Provide directionally accurate cost estimates for use in business case development
  • Participate and lead project design sessions with Process Strategy to develop end to end solutions for complex business problems. Challenge status-quo and think out of the box to device innovative solutions for such problems. Research and apply SAP OSS notes as required to resolve issues.
  • Coach/mentor members of AO Business Transformation COE and plant Finance teams as necessary.
  • Identify, define, map, and own the end-to-end processes (transactions & data flows) in respective Value Stream; align current processes with future process (ex. Corning’s SAP Global Template); create solutions for processes that do not align with SAP
  • Collaborate with team to develop linkages with other Value Streams to enable cross-function and cross-business solutions
  • Establish and monitor metrics for value stream to measure performance
  • Communication needs and business impact of changes
  • Lead definition and execution of the testing, training and cutover activities for the Finance area to ensure a smooth go live with minimal impact to month-end closing.
  • Advocate program within respective Value Stream and the need to change to a standardized methodology
  • Support the SAP training efforts (i.e., Trainer for Value Stream, post go-live support

Required Education and Experience

  • 10 or more years of experience managing large-scale projects in an IT, SC or business management role, preferably SAP implementations, within a large organization
  • Bachelors of Science Degree; Business Accounting or Finance degree preferable; Business Administration or equivalent discipline.  CPA, MBA or master’s in Finance/Cost Accounting is a plus
  • Hybrid skill set of Business Analyst/Solution Architect/Process & Data Management
  • Project Manager or Stream Lead experience
  • Ability to develop a deep understanding of Value Stream processes – clearly define and explain the current processes and future requirements needed for their Value Stream
  • Ability to work cross-functionally
  • Understanding of cross-functional impacts across business processes
  • Ability to follow detailed transactions and identify gaps and methods to resolve using both process and data
  • Ability to accommodate travel up to 50% or higher during deployment project critical periods.

The range for this position is $126,595.00 - $174,069.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
