Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Purpose of Position

Cooperation with related department and give necessary support on vendor scouring and all purchasing related activities to ensue on time execution and quality products that could meet or exceed internal/external customer’s expectations to ensure business running smoothly.

Job Scope & Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for purchasing for appointed raw materials & products.
  • Communicate with suppliers for updated purchase information such as lead-time.
  • Follow up suppliers on order acknowledgement, delivery plan and shipping schedule so that materials and products ordered could arrive on time and in time.
  • Support planner to well control material inventory value and level.
  • Drive the continuous improvement for better material manage and support localize the qualified products/vendors for better supply.
  • Liaising effectively with global peers to gain or provide support where required.
  • Lodge claims with suppliers on material quality problems and communicate with QD.
  • Implementation the purchasing governance processes in compliance approach.
  • Maintain master data, prepare monthly reports and manage information and data as required.
  • Backup as MRO purchasing.
  • Other tasks assigned by supervisor.
  • Responsible for reconciliation with suppliers

 

Target Talent Profile (must vs nice-to have)

  • Must

    • Bachelor degree, engineering background is preferred
    • 5 years working experience, at least 1 year working as buyer
    • Workable oral and written English and mandarin
    • Computer skills, Word, Excel and PPT skills
    • Good communication and negotiation skill
    • Basic knowledge of Import & Export
