Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
• Deploy and develop PEx culture and PEx initiatives within plant to support business development.
• Lead cross functions on plant scorecard define, monthly tracking, etc.
• Responsible for the establishment, maintenance and execution of PEx strategy.
• Ensure PEx belt utilization for well problem solving.
• AME coordination for supporting plant achieving the manufacturing excellence.
• Work with plant and regional team on the monthly performance update.
• Attend, contribute and support corporate PEx related activities, e.g. PEx belt recognition, projects award etc.
• To organize teams to drive the PEx tools promotion and implementation in plant and the related performance.
• Perform Industrial Engineering study on production lines using relevant tools for continuous improvement in productivity and equipment utilization for overall plant
• Perform process (equipment and labor) time study, line balancing and update on major processes, sub-processes & shared processes to minimize over or underestimate for equipment capacity for capacity extension projects.
• Other assignments for supporting business and cross functions.
Education & Experience
• Bachelor and /or above.
• Major in mechanical engineering or in optical related.
• Experience in PEx/Quality/ Engineering is preferred.
• At least 5 years’ experience in mechanical/optical industries.
Required Skills
• Knowledge of PEx project management.
• Familiar with process/quality/IE/Lean/cost control and improvement tools.
• Logic thinking, familiar with excellence manufacturing methodology (6-Sigma, Minitab, etc.)
• Good interpersonal communication skills.
• Good written and oral English.
• Self-motivated.
Desired Skills
• Certified PEx belt (e.g. 6-Sigma belt etc.)
• Team management skills.
