Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

We’re looking for a driven, detail-obsessed Implementation Engineer to join our high-energy team supporting Hyperscale and Enterprise Data Centers. 🌟 Purpose of the Role

As an Implementation Engineer, you’ll be the go-to technical expert for our Data Center customers and internal strategic account teams. You’ll build strong local relationships, guide design and installation decisions, and champion the adoption of Corning’s latest innovations. Your work will directly impact how the world’s most advanced data centers operate.

🔧 What You’ll Be Doing

• Build trusted relationships with local data center customers, consultants, and integrators—be their first call when they need expert advice.
• Act as a technical advisor and solution architect, tailoring Corning innovations to meet real-world customer needs across diverse data center environments.
• Forecast customer readiness and deployment timelines for new technologies—stay one step ahead.
• Partner with installers to ensure every project is set up for success: right tools, right skills, right people.
• Be the first responder for any field quality issues—coordinate internal teams and ensure fast, effective resolution.
• Stay sharp on market trends, customer architectures, and Corning’s latest innovations to guide customers toward the best-fit solutions.
• Apply your deep knowledge of TIA, IEC, and regional standards to craft winning technical responses for RFI/RFQ opportunities.
• Create and validate Bills of Material for customer projects—accuracy is everything.
• Share insights from site visits with internal teams to drive smarter sales and product strategies.
• Lead field trials and define what success looks like—then help make it happen.
• Coordinate with Engineering Services to align resources and timelines for on-site support of strategic accounts.
• Jump into special projects that support our global sales efforts—your expertise will make a difference.
• Be the technical bridge between Sales, Marketing, Product Management, Engineering, and Customer Experience—ensuring our customers and contractors are always in the loop.

🎓 What You Bring

• A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, a technical field, or science.
• 2+ years of experience in sales, project management, or data center design.
• Hands-on experience as a Field Engineer, Systems Engineer, Applications Engineer, or installation project lead.
