The purpose of this position is:

 

Works directly with the operations team to support daily production activities to ensure successful execution of production orders. Conducts document trainings, ensures compliance to procedures, maintains all process documentation, and coordinates scheduling needs between shifts. Performs daily inventory counts and assists with continuous improvement/ lean initiatives.

 

 

This position includes significant duties such as:

 

  • Responsible for the overall shift production performance for assigned department. 
  • Department expert in equipment operation, operations level troubleshooting, training, and manufacturing support processes.
  • Responsible for leadership development and performance of department area leads.
  • Interfaces with operations team; communicating key production issues to the team.
  • Supports daily production with data collection, monitoring inputs/ outputs, troubleshooting, providing basic machine/ parameter adjustments, resolving minor equipment issues, assisting with changeovers/ startups and related activities.
  • Proactively works to anticipate problems before they impact production; escalates problems to the Maintenance team as needed.
  • Monitors production metrics to ensure compliance to production and quality standards.
  • Provides break and/or staffing coverage (i.e. operates each piece of line equipment)
  • Assists with production prioritizations, resource allocations, and daily staffing numbers.
  • Ensures process documentation accuracy and communicates any changes concerning procedures, quality standards and plant-wide policies
  • Provides and coordinates department training along with maintaining associated training documentation and certifications
  • Supports Continuous Improvement (CI) activities and Performance Excellence programs
  • Maintains raw material and WIP inventory counts, escalates any related issues
  • Collaborates in efforts across all plant departments (i.e. Engineering, Safety, Quality) as needed
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

 

Working Conditions:

 

  • Disagreeable working conditions. Exposure to industrial machinery, moving parts, electrical and other energy sources.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required including but not limited to lab coats, hair/beard covers, shoe covers, gloves, ear protection, eye protection and head coverings.
  • Exposure to fumes and chemicals such as cleaners, inks, and solvents.
  • Exposure to high frequency noise.
  • Frequently lifts and/or moves up to 25 pounds and up to 65 pounds occasionally.

 

 

Education:

 

  • HS Diploma or GED required
  • Equivalent military technical qualification or certification.

 

 

Experience:

 

  • 3-5 years manufacturing experience in a GMP environment
  • Leadership experience within production or task team
  • Experience or proficiency in mechanical and/or electrical troubleshooting
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

The range for this position is ​$29.50 hourly rate - $34.25 hourly rate.  Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
