Scope of Position:

In this role, you will apply knowledge of engineering principles and practices to effectively accomplish technical assignments and projects that improve product, equipment and process performance (cost, quality and service). We look for you to provide solutions for increased material utilization, decreased costs, and improvement to product quality by planning, organizing and implementing projects.

 

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Assists in problem solving, to ensure timely resolution of short-term control system issues, and higher-level troubleshooting.
  • Provides cost and schedule updates on assigned project.
  • Provide general engineering and instrumentation and controls system knowledge (understands theories and fundamentals) and lead a project to support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Recommend and implement permanent solutions to long term performance issues and improve existing and new technologies.
  • Meet all Environmental, Safety and Health requirements.
  • Develop knowledge of material, process and/or equipment in focused areas of manufacturing or engineering.
  • Modify existing instrumentation and control systems through rigorous experimental design to continuously improve system and process performance.

Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time:

  • Standard business hours; Monday – Friday.

 

Required Education:

  • Currently enrolled Sophomore, Junior or Senior in an undergraduate Electrical, Mechanical, Computer or Industrial Engineering program.
  • At least one semester of core engineering course work completed.
  • GPA > 3.0

 

Required Skills:

  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing systems and experience with data analysis (i.e. Microsoft Excel, SPC rules).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of electrical standards (NFPA70, NFPA79).
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.

 

Desired Experience / Qualifications / Skills:

  • Prior Lab or Design Team exposure beneficial.
  • Process engineering skills (quantitative skills, coursework in engineering, statistics, or other statistical training).
  • Technical writing with the ability to deliver technical presentations to operators, engineers, and managers.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics/blueprints.
  • Programming experience - Ladder Logic, Structured Text, C, C#.
