Brief Description of Role:

The primary focus of this role is on process stability and equipment reliability. This role is within the cross-functional sterilization team and will proactively maintain line performance with operators and maintenance through process tuning and equipment repair/maintenance, as well as support engineer-led activities. In this role, you will work on assignments that are moderately complex in nature where judgment is required in resolving problems and making routine recommendations. This role is expected to be able to work with no instruction on routine work and general instructions on new assignments. We look for you to encompass the application of scientific and technological principles concerned with a continuous or periodic system of operations or activities in the sterilization of manufactured products. You will provide technical expertise in sterilization technologies and related manufacturing equipment, supporting the manufacturing and product development for the business.

Description of Work:

  • Carry out all work in a safe manner and use required PPE
  • Function as a collaborative team member supporting sterilization and manufacturing
  • Provide inputs on continuous improvement projects
  • Support line maintenance activities
  • Support training for operations and other technicians
  • Troubleshoot line equipment issues and product anomalies
  • Support job changes and production runs
  • Report at production meetings and data reviews
  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections
  • Support process and inventory tracking systems
  • Act as 1st Level Subject Expert.

Production Stability and Performance

  • Responsible for performance on production lines and working with maintenance and operators to preserve stable, high yield performance. o Identify and resolve equipment issues, ranging from known maintenance needs to new, low frequency failures. o Train plant maintenance and operators. o Support engineer-led process improvement activities from focused improvement portfolios.
  •  Support FAT and installation of new equipment, as needed

Minimum Qualifications:

  •  Associates degree in technical field or high school diploma with equivalent military training.
  •  Minimum 3+ years of experience as a process technician or related position within manufacturing environment. Skills / Experience:
  •  Knowledge of sterilization processes (Gamma and / or E-Beam) • Ability to develop standard work (SOP’s, SOS’s) process documents
  •  Experience in a GMO regulated industry – Pharmaceutical, Food and Beverage or Medical Device
  •  Familiar with DMAIC, LEAN, 5S, cost reduction initiatives
  •  Creative/innovative problem solving
  •  Proficient in the use of software programs such as MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint
  •  Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate actions
  •  Ability to work directly with and lead personnel on irradiator equipment and processes
  •  Strong technical, data-driven troubleshooting aptitude
  •  Able to collaborate across functional boundaries and integrate standardized solutions
