Role Purpose

Support a wide array of quality department tasks relating to developing and implement systems, procedures, and projects required to successfully accomplish departmental, plant, and corporate goals and objectives. Makes decisions based upon sound quality, engineering and scientific methods.     

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in development of measurement systems that support quality manufacturing philosophy.
  • Draft and revise Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Analyze quality metrics, identify opportunities and risks, develop plans for mitigation of risks and implement necessary changes to ensure sustainment of quality management systems.
  • Supports document management and storage control, ensuring records management audit readiness.
  • Support internal, customer, and external audits as needed.

Experiences/Education - Required

  • Pursuing a degree in Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, or other Natural Sciences
  • Must be available for 10 weeks during Summer 2026 (May 27-July 31, 2026) with a graduation date of December 2026 or later
  • Be interested in working for Corning, Inc after graduation, if presented with a full-time job opportunity.
  • Be willing to work at the posted work location: Durham , North Carolina

Experiences/Education - Desired

  • At least one semester of core engineering course work completed
  • GPA > 3.0

​The range for this position is $1,635.00 - $3,185.00 biweekly.  Starting pay for the successful applicant is prescribed based on geographic location, nature of position, and year in school.
