Position Purpose

This position will contribute to the development, design, and integration of advanced automation equipment and precision mechanical systems into manufacturing processes. This role involves the design, development, and delivery of precision automation solutions to meet stringent performance and reliability criteria. The candidate will leverage their expertise in precision mechanical design, motion systems, manufacturing assembly techniques, and system integration to drive innovation and continuous improvement, while ensuring safety and industry standards compliance. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders are essential for success in this role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronic Engineering
  • Demonstrated success in delivering mechanical designs for manufacturing automation systems
  • Proven ability to work with motion systems for manufacturing automation
  • Prior work with precision motion systems: including stepper motors, servo motors, and linear actuators, conveyor systems
  • Must be available for significant travel, primarily domestic, to multiple locations to support business needs

Desired

  • Understanding of robotics, actuators, and sensors used in automation
  • Familiarity with PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers; and languages including Ladder Logic, Structured Text) and HMI (Human-Machine Interface) design
  • Familiarity in using FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) tools for simulation and analysis
  • MATLAB, Simulink, or similar for control system design and analysis
  • Programming knowledge in languages such as Python, C++, or MATLAB

Responsibilities

  • Utilize CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD/Inventor) for detailed design work
  • Integrate advanced robotics, actuators, sensors, and control systems into automation equipment.
  • Collaborate with team members on system integration
  • Conduct data analysis, troubleshoot, and optimize system performance to meet stringent precision and reliability requirements
  • Model systems using fundamental engineering standards, conduct simulations, and execute data analysis using various methods and software tools to validate designs and optimize performance
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in automation technology and precision engineering to drive innovation and continuous improvement
  • Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation, including design specifications, technical reports, and validation protocols

The range for this position is $94,161.00 - $129,472.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
