*This is a Non-Exempt Hourly Position*

*Candidate must meet DOD/ITAR requirements for this position. This position does not support immigration sponsorship.

*PPE: Steel toe shoes, safety glasses (non-prescription provided), clean room gown (provided). PLEASE NOTE: Steel toe shoes will not be reimbursed.                                                                                            


Hours of work/work schedule/flextime:

  • A Shift (6:00 AM – 2:30 PM)
  • B Shift (2:00 PM – 10:30 PM)
  • C Shift (10:00 PM – 6:30 AM)


Day to Day Duties:

We seek highly motivated, skilled & innovative individuals with passion and a desire to learn. Job responsibilities and skills required vary from fabricating, coating and testing optical components to assembling and testing optical systems. Individuals must be team oriented and able to work collaboratively with others. Having glass handling or working with glass optical components highly valuable.                                                                                                                 


General Duties:                                                                                

  • Manufacturing tasks in compliance with work instructions                    
  • Using thin film chamber coaters for coating of optical components  
  • Inspecting / Testing optics films                                                                                        
  • Performing calculations, quality tests, inspection
  • Completes production logistics by moving / transacting materials and information through the production system.                                                                                       
  • Monitors process and records data.                                                                                
  • Performs quality tests, measurements, and inspections.       
  • Prepares material. with plant systems (e.g. document control, manufacturing execution system)                                                                               
  • Responsible for housekeeping and autonomous maintenance.
  • Communicates effectively and updates/maintains records when required.
  • Actively engages with continuous improvement and cost reduction programs.
  • Have strong analytical capabilities                                                                                    
  • Have a strong work ethic
  • *PPE - Candidate must provide safety shoes at own expense (overshoes will be provided if candidate does not have own safety shoes). Standard safety glasses will be provided.



  • A BS degree (STEM related field) or equivalent experience in optics or other technical field is required                                                                 


Required Skills and Experience:                                                                                                

  • Able to interpret drawings, blueprints according to specifications
  • Occasionally list up to 50 pounds with assistance (as needed)
  • Hand/eye coordination / manual dexterity / attention to detail                                                          
  • PC skills and ability to operate electronic equipment
  • Have strong analytical capabilities                    
  • Have a strong work ethic
