Role Purpose
As the Industrial Engineering Intern, you will support the Division Quality team in driving the Measurement System Analysis (MSA) program and assist with key process improvement projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Division Wide MSA program by running the pilot at one site
- Review all measurement systems, catalog, and prioritize based on risk and business objectives
- Develop MSA experiment plans, oversee execution of testing, analyze data, and report findings
- Drive measurement system improvement activities
- Support Statistical Production Control (SPC) software implementation
- Utilize Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to drive yield improvement and cost reduction projects for the division
- Analyze and report on production data to drive best practices
Experiences/Education - Required
- Current enrollment in an engineering degree program or related technical field
- Basic statistics knowledge
- Must be available for 10 weeks during Summer 2026 (May 27-July 31, 2026) with a graduation date of December 2026 or later
- Be interested in working for Corning, Inc after graduation, if presented with a full-time job opportunity.
- Be willing to work in Fairport, NY
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- A desire to learn and continuously improve.
- Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Experiences/Education - Desired
- Strong statistical background to include experience with statistical software such as Minitab or JMP
- Six sigma or lean experience, yellow belt trained
- Experience with measurement equipment or optical systems
- Plant or manufacturing experience
- Technical document writing experience

The range for this position is $1,635.00 - $3,185.00 biweekly. Starting pay for the successful applicant is prescribed based on geographic location, nature of position, and year in school.
