Role Summary:

 

The Plant Supply Chain Manager is a key leader within the plant’s operations. This role serves as the single point of accountability for all supply chain-related activities at the site, ensuring seamless integration across supply chain functions. Responsibilities include supply planning, logistics, warehouse operations, and site-related procurement activities. The role reports (solid line) to the Division Supply Chain Manager and dotted line to the Plant Manager. The Plant Supply Chain Manager is a member of the plant leadership team, as the primary liaison for supply chain matters, and contributes to achieving the plant’s operational and strategic goals.

 

Integrated Planning:

 

• Directs the on-site integrated planning team, overseeing short-term planning execution, including production planning, MRP, DRP, and site planning master data.

• Ensure alignment of planning processes with BU strategy and site operational requirements.

• Monitor and optimize inventory levels to meet service levels while minimizing costs.

• Drive adherence to planning standards and tools as defined by the BU Integrated Planning organization.

 

Logistics & Warehouse Operations:

 

• Oversees logistics and related operations teams for efficient goods movement, storage, and distribution.

• Implement process improvements to optimize warehouse layout and material handling efficiency.

• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.

 

Procurement Activities:

 

• Oversees site-related procurement activities (both direct and indirect) through a dotted-line reporting structure with site procurement professionals.

• Guide and support the on-site procurement team on sourcing events, vendor negotiations, and contract management for site-specific requirements.

• Collaborate with Corporate and BU procurement teams to align activities with broader supply chain strategies.

 

Leadership & Collaboration:

 

• Serve as the single point of accountability for all supply chain-related topics at the plant, providing oversight and support to the Plant Manager.

• Act as the primary liaison for supply chain matters, representing the function within the plant leadership team.

• Foster collaboration with cross-functional peers, including the Manufacturing, Finance, HR, Engineering, and IT, to align on shared objectives.

• Develop and mentor a high-performing team, promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

 

Strategic Contribution:

 

• Contribute to the BU’s supply chain strategy by implementing site-level initiatives that enhance efficiency and resilience.

• Identify and execute process improvements to improve customer service, cash, and cost efficiency.

• Support the plant’s overall operational and business objectives through effective planning and execution.

 

Qualifications & Competencies

 

 

Education and Experience:

 

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Operations, or related field (Master’s preferred).

• 8-10 years of experience in supply chain, logistics, or manufacturing operations, with a focus on planning and execution.

• Proven experience managing cross-functional teams in a manufacturing or plant environment.

• Strong understanding of MRP, DRP, production planning, contract negotiations, and logistics/warehouse processes

 

Skills and Competencies:

 

• Advanced knowledge of supply chain tools and ERP systems (e.g., SAP).

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to drive decision-making.

• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across functions.

• Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.

Working Conditions:

 

• This position is based on-site at the manufacturing plant, with occasional travel as required.

The range for this position is $135,540.00 - $186,368.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
