Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Lead the metrology activities within manufacturing function. Develop, improve, monitor and/or align the metrology among different CMs.
  • Support to introduce the new metrology system to manufacturing from division engineering.
  • Use statistical tools and industry quality metrics (sampling plans, etc.) to evaluate cost, quality, and capability alternatives, and institute continuous improvement efforts to support robust manufacturing processes.
  • Support improvements on Quality Management System, including PQA and QMS systems to ensure that the plant’s quality capabilities align with customer requirements.
  • Support to compare specs vs. capability. Ensure Incoming and Outgoing quality and documentation/traceability. Analyze part quality data and generate reports.
  • Ensure compliancy to quality systems and documentations.
  • Work closely with manufacturing process engineers to translate internal spec to manufacturing spec.
  • Then perform process data analysis to design in suitable guard banding and balance the alpha/beta risks.
  • Support Performance Excellence methods to ensure continuous improvement is evident from product concept to delivery.
  • Evaluates cost, quality, and capability alternatives, and institutes continuous improvement efforts to support robust manufacturing processes.
  • Some travel may be required – domestic within Asia.

 

Education & Experience

  • Required Education: Engineering degree any discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a metrology engineering role.

 

Required Skills    

  • Solid background in quality engineering.
  • Able to work independently without micro supervision.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work in corss function teams, such as with supply chain, commercial division engineering and CM.
  • Demonstrated project skills experience.
  • Fluent spoken and written English.                                            

 

Desired Skills  

  • Experience in manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in technical problem solving and root cause analysis to drive improvements in manufacturing process capability.
  • Ability to receive new process into a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in the application PEx tools, Problem Solving skills, MEE tools.
  • Green Belt or Six Sigma certified.
  • Experience with computer software applications such as Microsoft Office, Visio, MS Project, and Minitab/JMP.
  • Metrology/measurement system,
  • Optical/Laser/Semicon industry working experience

  • Able to lead and work in a team environment to solve problems and drive progress.
  • Able to action items and anticipate project hurdles before they can turn into problems.
